DistroKid is excited to be partnering with Twitch, to allow artists to participate in the Twitch Affiliate Program!
Through our partnership, qualified DistroKid artists are eligible to receive an invitation to Twitch's Affiliate program once they connect a Twitch account. This lets them start earning money through ads, subscriptions, and Bits when they stream on Twitch. As long as you’ve got at least 1 release that has been live for more than 30 days, with at least 3 streams on Spotify, then you can initiate the onboarding process by linking your DistroKid and Twitch accounts.
Twitch Affiliates can earn money in three ways:
- Channel subscriptions - Subscriptions let your community support you on a consistent basis and get rewarded with exclusive perks for doing so. In addition to the good vibes, subscribers gain access to custom global emotes usable across all of Twitch, subscriber badges, ad-free viewing, and more. For more info on Subscriptions, check out this page on Twitch’s educational Creator Camp site.
- Bits - Bits are a virtual good that your viewers can use to Cheer in chat to show support, celebrate moments, and amplify their voice. When a viewer Cheers, animated Bit gem emotes, Cheermotes (animated versions of popular emotes), or custom Cheermotes (for Partners) appear in Chat. You receive $0.01 for each Bit Cheered in your channel.
- Ad revenue - Earn a share of the revenue generated from ads played or shown on your channel. You can determine the length and frequency of mid-roll ad breaks through your creator dashboard. For more info on running Ads, check out this page on Twitch Creator Camp.
If you want to participate in the Twitch Affiliate program, head on over to distrokid.com/twitch.
From here, you can either connect with an existing Twitch account, or create a new one. After connecting your account, Twitch will confirm your eligibility and send you an official invite email within 24 hours of completing the process.
Note: If you have signed up for Twitch using a mobile phone number, you will need to add an email address to your Twitch account, via your Twitch account settings, in order to receive the invitation email.
If you've met the qualification criteria but haven't yet received your email, you can also begin your Affiliate onboarding process on Twitch by clicking here, or from within your Twitch Creator Dashboard you can access the form by clicking the Affiliate option under Preferences and then click Affiliate Onboarding.
