TIDAL has partnered with MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) to deliver master quality sound to TIDAL listeners with a TIDAL HiFi membership. For more information visit TIDAL and MQA site.
We've worked with TIDAL and MQA to develop a system for artists to upload their MQA files directly to DistroKid to be submitted to TIDAL.
To start, head over to the upload form and fill out the information for your release. At the bottom of the upload form under the "EXTRAS (OPTIONAL BUT AWESOME)" section, select "Tidal Master/MQA" for a one time, nonrecurring fee of $8.99.
TIDAL Masters delivers the sound of your original master recording, so be sure to upload your master audio file in WAV, FLAC, or AIFF file formats. Uploads should be at least 44.1 kHz / 16-bit—we recommend aiming higher to take full advantage of the benefits of TIDAL Masters/MQA.
Your masters will then be verified and encoded using MQA technology, so your tracks will display the “MASTER” badge on TIDAL, and delivers audiophile quality on other streaming services & devices including Astell & Kern, Onkyo, Technics, iFi, AudioQuest, and many more. At this time, the TIDAL Master/MQA Optional Album Extra cannot be added to releases that have been previously uploaded. If you would like to add this extra to your prior uploads, you will need to delete your release from stores, re-upload with the exact same metadata, and select the TIDAL Master/MQA extra on the upload form.
